Obituary
Corinne W. Messer, 88, of Ashton, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at KSB Hospital
in Dixon, IL. She was born April 25, 1920 in Lee County, IL, the daughter of Leo J. And
Frances J. (Hawthorne) Cleary. Corinne married George Messer on April 19, 1941 in Ashton
and he preceded her in death. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashton.
Survivors include a son : Jim (Peggy) Messer and daughter: Sandra Pankhurst all of Ashton;
2 grandchildren: Kurt Messer and Jonathan (Bernadette) Pankhurst; great granddaughter: Lillian
Pankhurst and a foster grandson: Doug Kaufman.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ashton, IL on Friday, March 27, 2009
at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jonathan Black. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements by Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Memorials to the Ashton Food Pantry or Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
Burial at Ashton Cemetery.
