Cruz Mata, 68 of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at the University of
Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 3, 1943 in Mercedes, TX to Refugio
and Victoria (Garcia) Mata. Cruz married Elodia Becerra. He was a realtor and employed by Lori Patterson Realty. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Evangelina Villa,
Jose Francisco Mata and Jaime Marin.

Survivors include his wife: Elodia of Rochelle; son: Ricardo (Priscilla) Mata of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 2 daughters: Maria Elena (Jose Merced) Granillo and Teresa (Juan) Dominguez all of Ashton, IL; 7 grandchildren: David, Antonio, Josue, Juan, Mateo, Eleazar and Isaiah; siblings: Vicki (Gary) Pittman, Leonel (Chita) Mata, Roberto (Anna) Mata, Eliberto Mata, Maria Dalia (Bill) Daniels and Rene Zamora.

Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, on Sunday from 3 to 7 PM.
Burial will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
