Rochelle

Daisy A. Russell, 99, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Liberty Village of Rochelle, Illinois. Daisy was born on March 23, 1923 to Conrad C. and Elsie W. (Lambke) Koch in Steward, IL. On March 30, 1946, she married P.D. Russell in Rochelle.

Daisy retired at age 72 after owning her own business as a hairdresser in Rochelle for 50 years. Previously, she was employed by Caron Spinning, Pepsi Cola and Del Monte. She was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church and Women of the Moose. Daisy was known as a hardworking, caring and generous person by all those who knew her.

Daisy is survived by her children: Genevieve Rains of Rochelle, IL, June (Robert) Leprich of Cortland, IL, Connie (William) Curths of Trinity, FL, Debra (Randy) Wenckens and Brian (Rhonda) Russell both of Odessa, FL; nine grandchildren: Russell Rains, Dawn (Bob) Pittman, Korrena Sutron, Megan (Jeff) Aiken, Lisa (Mike) Johnson, Michelle (Josh) Lamb, Natalie (Doug) Neps, Alexis (Ryan) Beery and Cassidy (Tyler Vogt) Russell; twenty- four great grandchildren and twenty-one great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, P.D., she was also predeceased by three sisters: Helen Swope, Luella Rainwater and Mildred Carlson; brother, Glenn Koch, son-in-law, Raymond Rains; two grandsons: Raymond Dale Rains and Mark Daniel Rains; grandson-in-law, Woody Sutron; one great-grandchild, and one great great-grandson.

The visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, October 30, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 31, at the Rochelle United Methodist Church, 709 4th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Katherine Paisley and Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. After the burial, there will be a luncheon at the Moose Club, 311 N. Main St., Rochelle.
