W. Dale Bearrows, 72, of Rochelle, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at Rochelle Community Hospital. Dale was born August 17, 1944 in Rochelle, the son of George William and Eloise Mae (Kruse) Bearrows. He was united in marriage to Joyce Myers on January 31, 1970.
Dale worked as a mechanic and also as a custodian for Rochelle Township High School. He was a member of the Ogle-Lee-DeKalb CB Club. He was an assistant Boy Scout leader for many years and was a member of the Wulapeju Lodge 140 Order of the Arrow. Dale was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle for over 40 year, where he also served as a deacon. He loved camping, spending time outdoors, and being with his family.
Dale is survived by his wife, Joyce; son, Bill (Dawn) Bearrows of Flower Mound, TX; daughter, Connie Bearrows of Rockford; granddaughter, Ashley of Flower Mound, TX; two great-grandsons, Liam and Lincoln; brothers Don, Paul (Barb,) Brian (Patricia,) and Rick (Marla) Bearrows; sisters Karen Bearrows and Becky Salinas; brother-in-law, Ron (Rev. Joy) Myers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Bearrows, and sister, Patricia A. Nichols.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, June 9, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, in Rochelle with Pastor Jim Tilley officiating.
