Danny Lynn Russell, 70, from Rochelle, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 after a battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Danny was born on July 16, 1952, in Wynne, Arkansas to James and Jewel (Cagle) Russell.

Danny enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and spending time with his dogs and wife. He spent his days working around the house and spending time with his best friend, his wife Lisa, and dogs, especially his baby girl, Tasha Ann. Lisa and Danny were married 17 years and considered themselves to be soulmates. He and Lisa resided in Ashton for the past few years after living most of his life in Rochelle.

Danny is survived by his wife, Lisa Russell, of Ashton; daughters, Leslie (Steve) Walters of Rochelle and Amanda (John) Bresley of Mendota; son, Randy Russell of Argyle, WI; loved by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; step-son, Josh Dondorf of Hinckley; brother, Bill (Karen) Russell of Polo; brother-in-law, Vinnie (Heather) Hess of Rochelle; mother and father-in-law, Marjie and Robert Hess; nephews, Kaleb and Kam Hess; and his dogs, Tasha Ann (daddy's girl,) Ladybug, and Lucky.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jewel Russell, and his brother, Mickey Russell.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M., Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle.

The funeral service will be at 10 A.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the funeral home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Interment will follow next to his parents in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Please visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
