DANNY C. SHAW, age 67, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Serenity Home in Oregon with his family by his side. He was born on July 15, 1946 to Donald C. and Luella May (Gregory) Shaw in Rochelle, IL. He was one of the last babies born in the old hospital. He married Donna L. Bowers on August 12, 1967. They were married for 46 years. Danny was a big auto racing fan and also had his other sweetheart, a '55 Chevy. He graduated from R.T.H.S. in 1964. He was retired, but had worked in the furniture business, also owning a used furniture and moving service in the 1970's. He also had worked as a machinist.

Preceded in death by his parents, Donald C. and Luella Shaw; brother-in-law, Paul Lovelady; son-in-law, Kevin Clark, niece, Dawn Lovelady and parents-in-laws: George C. and Rogene Bowers.

He is survived by his sweetheart and wife: Donna Shaw of Rochelle; daughter, Danette Clark of Rochelle; son, Damon (Lisa) Shaw of Stillman Valley; brother, Robert (Ellie) Shaw of Hoffman Estates, IL; sister, Patsy Lovelady of Hillcrest; 5 grandchildren: Kristi and Kaylie Clark of Rochelle, and Conner, Braden, and Maddie Shaw of Stillman Valley; and 2 loving beagles: Snoopy and Rowdy.

The family would like to thank Rockford Memorial Hospital and Cancer Center, Rochelle Community Hospital, and Serenity Hospice and Home for the loving care given to Danny throughout his illness.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Harvest Baptist Church in Hillcrest with Rev. Duane Boehm officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 - 8 pm at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials to the Serenity Hospice and Home or the Harvest Baptist Church.
