Darlene Joanne Reynolds, 85, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Rochelle Community Hospital in Rochelle, Illinois. Darlene was born on July 29, 1937 to Thomas and Laura (Morgan) Guffey in Rockford, IL. On December 24, 1954, she married Louis Davis Reynolds in Hernando, MS. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1999.

Darlene was an avid reader of anything in print. Her favorite author was John Grisham but she also thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire Harry Potter series as well. She loved dancing with her husband, Louis, and took great pride in her cleaning. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her five children: Louis (Shelley) Reynolds, Lenny (Dianne) Reynolds, Denise Montgomery, Diane (Don) Rhoads all of Rochelle and Luana (Jeff) Quick of Dixon, IL; brother, Donald (Jeanette) Guffey of Show Low, AZ; eight grandchildren: Eric Reynolds, Jarrod (Liz) Reynolds, Kara Reynolds, Lauren (Elmer Porter) Montgomery, Kyle Montgomery, Lindsey (Kyle) Myers, Sarah (Andrew) Halverson, and Jacob (Chelsea Jolly) Rhoads; nine great grandchildren: Tripp and Cortt Myers, Alexa, Emma and Owen Halverson, Sofia, Izabella, Easton and Austin Reynolds.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louis, she is predeceased by an infant granddaughter, Frankie Mae Reynolds, son-in-law, Jim Montgomery and 17 siblings.

The visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
