Darrell G. Herrmann, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 21, 2017. He was born on March 15, 1958 in Rochelle, the son of Vincent T. and Shirley (Gittleson) Herrmann. Darrell graduated from Rochelle Township High School and then farmed with his brother David. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Gary Herrmann, and step brother, Buck Hoelzer.

Survived by his siblings, Denny Herrmann of Rochelle, David Herrmann of Steward, and Dawn (Norm) Jenkins of Rochelle; nieces and nephews: Ali (Don) Harms, Eric (Jamie) Herrmann, Jennifer Jenkins, Taylor Jenkins, and Haley Herrmann; great nephew, Colton Herrmann; step siblings: Mike (Carol) Hoelzer, Sherry Hoelzer, Doug (Kelly) Johnson, Dorie (Mike) Golt, and Kyle (Lisa) Johnson; and his beloved dog, Cooter.

Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6 ^th St., Rochelle. Funeral will be a 10 am on Saturday at the Unger Horner Funeral Home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Burial at St. James Cemetery in Lee.
