David Kevin Cook, 56, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. Dave was born on September 17, 1969, the son of Gerald and Ruth (Scott) Cook in DeKalb, IL. He worked for Delmonte as a forklift driver for 37 years.Dave enjoyed golfing, playing darts, listening to music, and playing his guitar. He was an avid sports fan. As each ball season progressed, he could be found cussing out his favorite team of the season, the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Yankees.Dave is survived by his longtime partner, Jennifer Gregory of Rochelle; three children: Eric Cook, Madelynn Cook and Rachel Cook; four siblings: Linda Hyde, Debbie Marlow, Gerald Cook and Mary Cook, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his parents and two siblings Tina Cook and Caroline Whitmier.

There will be a memorial visitation from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.
