David Graydon Fry, 63, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Niles, Illinois with his family by his side.

Born on July 4, 1962, in Rochelle, Illinois; David was the son of Daniel and Sharon (Burchette) Fry. He married Denise Anne Greffe on November 2, 1996, in Rochelle, Illinois. Denise preceded him in death on November 7, 2025.

David worked for AmeriCold for 30 years. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Denise, for 29 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and celebrating all things Fourth of July. A proud patriot and fan of the red, white, and blue, David especially looked forward to spending time with his family. His greatest joy was being “Opa” to his grandchildren, a role he cherished and embraced with love and pride.

David is survived by his mother, Sharon Fry of Rochelle, Illinois; his four children: Nicholas Fry of Mascoutah, Illinois, Laura (Richard) Hines of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, Krystal (Owen) Freeman of Byron, Illinois, and Amanda Fry of Rochelle, Illinois; his 16 grandchildren, Haleigh, Graycon, Madelyn, Audrey, Alexander, Elizabeth, Isabella, Samantha, Leia, Kylyn, Hazyl, Olyvia, Hannah, Aubrianna, Arya, and Esmay; his brothers: Daniel Fry, Darrell Fry and Doyle (Tammy) Fry; one sister, Denise Fry; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Anne Fry, and his father, Daniel Fry.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home.
