Obituary

David G. Soost, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Rochelle, IL. Dave was born on January 9, 1942 to George and Irene (Giese) Soost in Albert Lea, MN. He married Joyce Steck on September 1, 1962 in Minnesota Lake, MN. Dave retired from Del Monte working as a manager of seamer technology. David is preceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law: Jim Keller.

Dave loved to fish and hunt, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He looked forward to coffee time with his buddies every day. He will be remembered for his smile and his sense of humor.

Dave is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce of Rochelle; three children: Neil (Jackie) Soost of Hartland, WI, Paul Soost of Orlando, FL and Kelly Soost of Rochelle; grandson, Aidan DeMark; brother, Howard (Kae) Soost of Arlington, MN; sister, Marian Keller of Waseca, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating.
