David Allan Tilsy, 63 of Ashton, IL died suddenly Saturday, May 6, 2017. David was born June 5, 1953 in Joliet, Illinois the son of James and Frances (White) Tilsy. He married Kathryn Reinert on September 14, 1974. He was a fourth generation farmer with his brother, Mark Tilsy, and then his son, Jeremy starting in Will County and continuing in Lee County. He was a member of the Ashton United Methodist Church and served as a trustee for many years. David enjoyed his motorcycle rides, especially the ones he took with his son, Jeremy. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was a great caretaker and provider, doing everything he could to bring joy to all he met.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn; daughter, Carrie (Aaron) Cochrane of Ashton, IL; son, Jeremy (Heather) Tilsy of Ashton, IL; granddaughters: Grace Cochrane and Leah Cochrane; brother, Thomas Tilsy of Mico, TX; sister, Sharon Griffin of Diamond, IL; brother, Mark (Cindy) Tilsy of Franklin Grove, IL and sister, Mary (Marvin) Crider of Homer Glen, IL; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Laura Crites at the Ashton United Methodist Church, 906 Richardson Ave, Ashton. Additional visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service at the church.
