Rochelle

Deborah Eve Ramsey, 84, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 at her home in Rochelle, Illinois.  Debbie was born on January 25, 1941, the daughter of Harry and Rose (Goldberg) Kinchen in Bangor, Michigan.  On February 6, 1960, she married John "Ed" Ramsey in Rochelle. For well over 30 years, Debbie was a telephone operator for Contel and then for GTE.

Debbie enjoyed going to the Rochelle Senior Center and get-togethers at her daughter, Susan's home. Just spending time visiting with family was a joy.  She especially relished the time she spent with her great granddaughter, Leah. Debbie was very grateful for her wonderful neighbors, who were always there if she needed them.

Debbie is survived by her two children:  Susan (James) Ramsey-Jorgenson of DeKalb, IL and Mark (Angely) Ramsey of Miami, FL; sister, Natasha Yuhas of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren: Derek (Kayla) Ramsey-Aquino, Melanie and Lorraine Ramsey-Aquino, Tristan and Alexa Komadina and great granddaughter, Azaileah "Leah" Jorgenson.

In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Ed, on January 2, 2020; her son, James Ramsey on November 28, 2009 and three brothers: Larry Kinchen, David Kinchen and Gerald Emke.

The visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday with Judy Williams officiating.  Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.  Memorials may be made to the family.
