DEBRA A. FINKBONER, age 56, of Rochelle, joined the Lord on Friday, August 7, 2009.
Born on July 8, 1953 in Rockford IL to Leonard and Barbara (Shindle) Troha, she attended Oregon grade schools and moved to Rochelle in 1968. She was active in high school cheerleading and choir, graduating with the class of 1971. She married Leslie R. Finkboner on July 12, 1986 in Rochelle.

She was employed by Caron International as a Lab Colorist and Safety Specialist from 1971 to 1994. She worked at Nylint Toys in Rockford from 1995 to 2001 as a Safety Specialist. From 2001 to 2008 she was an Administrative Assistant and Accounting Associate at the University Plaza Residence Hall in DeKalb. Deb was a past member of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists and the American Society of Safety Engineers. She served St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in past years in various PTL positions, was the first Market Day Chairman, a Sunday School instructor, choir and church Council member. She enjoyed reading, scrap booking, fishing, gardening on her patio, and time with her grandchildren.

Deb is survived by her husband, Les, daughter Amy (Joel) Alford of Lewis KS; stepdaughter Tina (Andy) Mueller of Whitewater, WI; stepson Dan Finkboner of Chana; brother Ed (Sylvia) Troha of Rochelle and two grandchildren, Marissa and Brandon Mueller. There are four surviving nephews: Derek and Colin Troha and Jason and Tim Finkboner. She is predeceased by her mother in 1985 and father in 2002.

Visitation will be from 4 - 7 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
