Della May Spitser, 94, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Franklin Grove, IL. Della May was born August 13, 1922 in Reynolds Township, IL to Charles and Mary (Becker) Koch. Reverend John Robeson officiated the marriage of Nasby E. Spitser and Della May on November 23, 1941 in rural Rochelle. She is preceded in death by her husband on October 11, 2005; her daughter, Judy Hepner; two sons: Darrel Spitser and James Matheny, grandson, Travis Hepner; sister; Ada Pierce and two brothers: Floyd and Earl Koch.

Della May is survived by her daughter: Lily Mitchell of Rochelle and son-in-law Donald Hepner of Aurora, IL; four grandchildren: Lisa Matheny, Chris Matheny, Tim Hepner and Troy Hepner; seven great grandchildren: Grant Matheny, Demario Hughes, Darius Matheny, James Hepner, Ameris, Alaia and Jillian Matheny and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church, 709 4th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Rob Hamilton officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Lawnridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
