Delores Ruth Balder, age 86 passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at the Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, with her family at her side. She was born on March 4, 1931, in Indiana, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth McCroskey. She married Marvin R. Balder on October 4, 1942 in Aurora, IL. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1999. Delores worked at Western Electric, which later became AT&T from which she retired. Delores loved to travel, and there were many camping trips with her family over the years. Many people appreciated her beautiful rose garden at Woodhaven Lakes, where they often referred to her as the "Rose Lady". She is also preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters.

Survived by her 4 children: David (Connie) Balder of Sandwich, IL, Jeff Balder of West Brooklyn, IL, Dale (Jeanette) Balder of Compton, IL, and Kevin (Julie) Balder of Lafollette, TN; 9 grandchildren; Aaron Balder, Leslie Balder, Adam Balder, Duncan Balder, Matthew Adamec, Patrick (Sheri) Molitor, Jennifer (Bryan) Rock, Jaqueline Lustig, and Thomas (Sara) Molitor; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6 ^th St., Rochelle with Rev. Dr. James Horvath officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9 - 10:50 prior to the funeral. Luncheon will follow services at the Calvary Lighthouse Church. Cremation rites will then be accorded.
