Lorna "Denise" Smith, 55, passed away February 2, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Denise was born on July 19, 1962 to Lawrence and Phyllis (Bruce) Eykamp in Rochelle. She was a life long Rochelle resident, working at the Sunrise restaurant as a server for over 24 years. Denise loved spending time with her significant other, Kurt Kujnisch, her grandchildren, and their many Dachshund dogs. She also enjoyed spending time with the Sunset Crew, working on crossword puzzles and watching the various shows on the TLC Channel. Preceded in death by her son, Anthony Lee Madden; her husband, Richard L. Smith; her father, Lawrence (Mary) Eykamp, and her mother, Phyllis (Chuck) Nelson.

Survived by her significant other, Kurt Kujnisch of Rochelle; daughter, Nicole Wingert of Dixon, and two grandchildren: Logan Scott Stoker and Kennedy Nicole Wingert; two brothers: Christopher and Larry Eykamp both of Florida; and many very close friends.

Memorial gathering will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February, 17, 2018 at the Rochelle V.F.W. Post 3878. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
