Dennis D. Garberg, 68, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away in his home, Sunday, December 29, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 4th, 1:00 p.m., at Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be held Friday, January 3rd, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO, 64145.
Dennis was born February 15, 1945 in Brainerd, Minnesota. He grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota. He was a 1963 graduate of Rochelle Township High School in Rochelle,IL and went on to graduate from Drake University in 1967. He joined the Army Reserves and created his own company called the Sunflower Group that is based in Lenexa, KS. His Sunflower family meant very much to him and he strove to create a family type atmosphere within the organization. Dennis was very musically inclined and had great times playing with the company band The Weasels.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Terry Garberg; his three sons and their wives, Jason and Dana, Justin and Dana and Trevor and Karen; brother, Leon; and nine grandchildren.
