Dewayne Edward Swingley, 80, of Rochelle passed away Monday, April 4, 2022 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois. Dewayne was born on May 17, 1941 in Rochelle, IL, the son of Kenneth and Pearl (Hannan) Swingley. On January 20, 1968, he married Eileen LaVerne Schueler in DeKalb, IL. They made their residence in Rochelle where he was a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church. For 20 years, Dewayne worked for Swift Company in the accounting department and then for another 20 years as the office manager of the Business Office for Kishwaukee College before retiring in 2003.

Dewayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen of Rochelle; sister, Joyce Hall of Rochelle; two nieces, Kimberly (Peter) Muschong and Tracey (Kevin) Hall-Tracey; grandnieces and nephews: Alexandria, Elizabeth and Peter Muschong and Brandon and Brooklyn Tracey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Colby "Bud" Hall.
