Diana Mary Russell, 70, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. She was born April 26, 1948 in DeKalb, the daughter of Leonard A. and Mary Frances (Boyd) Anderson. She married James R. Russell on November 28, 1964 in Malta, IL.

Diana worked as a cashier and customer service representative at the Rochelle Wal-Mart for 27 years. She was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church in Creston. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, going to garage sales, and fishing with her family.

Diana is survived by her son, Jason Russell, of Rochelle; two sisters, Juanita Hayes of Neosho, MO and Janet McCarty of Malta; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dorothy Blackwood.

In addition to her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Lonny Russell; and sister, Shirley McMasters.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 10, 2018, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle with Pastor Al Roose officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be directed to the family.
