Monroe Center

Diana L. Spray, 70, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Serenity Hospice and Home with her family at her side in Oregon, IL. Diana was born February 7, 1947 to John and Marion (Beer) Shearer in Rockford, IL. She married Charles Raymond Spray on June 12, 1965 at the Monroe Center Community Church in Monroe Center, IL. Diana was a bus driver for the Ogle County Educational Cooperative and a teacher's aid for 36 years. She was nominated for bus driver of the year in 1990 and won this distinguished honor out of 7,000 other drivers. Diana was an E.M.T. on the Monroe Center Fire Department for 20 years. She was a big supporter of the Special Olympics and a full time grandmother of six. Diana was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Spray.

Diana is survived by her husband, Charles "Ray" of Monroe Center; children: Shawnda (Joel) Ludwig of Forreston, IL and Charles "Jr." (Amy) Spray of Machesney Park, IL; six grandchildren: Allison (Fred) Bergman, Samantha Ludwig, Jackie Ludwig, Joel Ludwig, Olivia Spray and Mason Spray.

The visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 21 at the funeral home with Rev. Barbara Otten officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
