Diane Ruggerio, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Diane was born January 29, 1933 in La Salle, IL to Burton and Lillian (Peterson) Cooke. She married Anthony Ruggerio, Sr. on May 24, 1953 in Ladd, IL. Diane worked for Aigner's, Walmart and for the Rochelle Elementary School District as part of the kitchen staff. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony on June 19, 2005 and an infant daughter, Wendy.

This good and faithful servant will be most remembered for her love and enjoyment of her family, sense of humor, singing and spreading joy wherever she went. She served her church and community through her quilting, singing in the choir and as one of the kitchen ladies.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Visiting Angels and Serenity Hospice for their support during her final days.

Diane is survived by two daughters: Linda Ruggerio and Shelley (Gary) Haws; two sons: Anthony "Jay" (Maxine) Ruggerio and Douglas (Jeannie) Ruggerio; two sisters: Beverly Kelish and Marilyn Brock; six grandchildren: Nicholas (Angela) Haws, Jonathan (Ashley) Haws Sr., Zachary (Inna) Ruggerio, Sheila Ruggerio, Tyler Ruggerio and Yasmine Ruggerio; three great-grandchildren: Lily, Jonathan Jr. and Elizabeth Haws and expecting great-grandchild, Alexander Jayson Ruggerio.

The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, 14206 E. Flagg Rd.,Rochelle with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating. Visitations will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 10 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle and 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Saturday, prior to the service at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in La Salle, IL. Memorials may be made in honor of Diane to Faith Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice and Home.
