Dolores M. Swanson, 86, formerly of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. She was born on June 9, 1923 in Hinsdale, IL to Arnold Thomas and Margaret (Floring) Olson. Dolores married Robert R. Swanson on July 24, 1942 in Hinsdale, IL and he preceded her on Jan. 28, 1999. Together they owned Rochelle Rose Company for 35 years in Rochelle. She volunteered at Watsonville Hospital in California, Rochelle Community
Hospital and also for the American Cancer Society. Dolores was also preceded by her parents and brother: Harold Olson.

Survivors include sons: James (Carolyn) Swanson of Las Vegas, NV and Richard (Um Chong Kim) Swanson of Oregon, IL; daughter: Linda (Alan) Cargerman of Oregon, IL; 4 grandchildren: Scott, and Jason Leifheit and Kristen and Brina Swanson; 8 great grandchildren: Jeffrey, Caleb, Grace, Lilly, Trask and Jax Leifheit and Bryce and Lani Morris; brother: Jerry (Kathy) Olson of Naperville, IL and twin sister: Phyllis (Rudy) Cisar of Vallejo, CA.

Services will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St, in Rochelle, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Sandy Graber officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 AM at Unger-Horner prior to the service. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Family requests memorials to Franklin Grove Nursing Center or to Ogle County Hospice.
