Donald Bollman, 85, of Rochelle, passed away on March 5, 2016 in Machesney Park IL. He was born on Sep. 26, 1930 in Dixon, IL, to James E. and Helen (Meyers) Bollman. Don married Pat A. Fager on Jan. 9, 1955 in Polo, IL. Pat preceded him in death on February 4, 2010. Don is also preceded in death by an infant son: Gary Alan in 1963; two brothers: Bill and Dick; two sisters: Carol Mann and Sharon Both and granddaughter: Jennifer Dodson in 2003.

Don grew up in Woosung, IL. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1952-1955. Upon returning from the service, he married Pat and they built their house in Woosung, where Don worked on a farm. They moved to Rochelle and Don started a lawn care business. He eventually started Hub City Taxi, which he and Pat owned and operated for 18 years, retiring in 1999. For many years, Don displayed antique farm tractors during the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival, winning numerous awards.

Survivors include his sons: Jim (Pat) Bollman of Freeport, IL and Ed (Ronda) Bollman of Colorado; daughters: Donna Dodson of Wisconsin and Peggy (Glen) Hughes of Machesney Park, IL; six grandchildren: Corey (Britani) and Keith Hughes, Brad and Bryan Bollman and Bethany and Jessica Bollman; three great-grandchildren: Cadyn, Ariel and Mackynzie Hughes; a brother, Robert Bollman of Wisconsin; and three sisters, Shirley Marsh of Dixon, Patricia (Bernard) McIntyre of Sterling, and Marilyn Gennaro of Loves Park.

Services will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Thursday, March. 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Herb Bollman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, prior to the funeral service. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
