Donald K. Bubik, age 74, of Rochelle, died on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Rochelle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born on April 18, 1938 in Kankakee, IL to
Benjamin and Ruth (Johnston) Bubik. On Sept. 3, 1960, Don married Sally Kay Mack in Danville, IL. In 1960 he received a Bachelors Degree from Eastern IL University. Don served in
the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War and was the Illinois Soldier of the Year in 1964. Memberships include Rochelle American Legion, Golden K, Rochelle United Methodist Church and was a member of Rochelle City Council from 2001 - 2003. In 2001, he retired as Assistant Controller from A.O. Smith Harvestore on DeKalb, IL. Don was a fisherman, gardner and enjoyed traveling.
Surivors include his wife: Sally of Rochelle; Son: David Bubik of Creston, IL; daughter: Susan
Bubik of Rockford, IL; sister: Marilyn West of Bourbonnais, IL; 3 grandchildren: Kyle, Mary and Emily Hansen.
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Rochelle United Methodist Church. Visitation from 9 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service on Monday.
Cremation rites arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Memorials to Rochelle United Methodist Church or to Serenity Home & Hospice. Inurnment will be at Lawnridge
Cemetery.
