Obituary
Donald R. Hacker, 76, of Rochelle, passed away on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at St. Anthony
Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born on Dec. 6, 1931 in Chicago, IL the son of Louis and Elsie (Paetsch) Hacker. Don married Charlotte Haas on Nov. 3, 1951 in Chicago.
He served in the Army of Occupation in Germany during the Korean War. Don was
preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters: Maybelle, June and Elsie and a brother: Louis.
He had previously been employed as a retail store manager.
Survivors include his wife: Charlotte of Rochelle; Son: David (Janet) Hacker of Lake Zurich, IL; daughter: Rev. Donna (Lawrence) Smith of Champaign, IL; brother: Warren (Josephine) Laufenberg of Park Ridge, IL; 2 grandchildren: Cindy and Jenny Hacker of Lake Zurich, IL and 7 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren.
Cremation rites were arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home. There will be no services.
Memorials can be made to Hub City Senior Center in Rochelle, IL.
