Donald W. Johnson Jr., 67, of Rochelle, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home. Don was born February 23, 1955, in Rochelle, the son of Donald W. and Mary Ann (Koechig) Johnson Sr. He married Linda Reed on July 20, 1973 in Oregon, IL.

Don spent most of his career as a car salesman. He worked for 35 years at his family's dealership, D.J.'s Auto Sales, in Rockford. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He loved being outdoors. He could often be found riding his Harley, going for walks, or sitting on his swing in the summertime. Don was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was very close to his family and would take time every day to speak with numerous family members.

Don is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Johnson of Rochelle; his wife, Linda Johnson of Rochelle; two children, Kim (Greg) Johnson of Waukesha, WI and Brian (Lindsay) Johnson of Kirkland, IL; three grandchildren, Maddie Hanson of Pewaukee, WI and Emma and Rylee Johnson of Kirkland, IL; his sister, Terry (Tom) Harvell of Rochelle; and numerous friends.

Don is preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Johnson Sr.

Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
