Donald L. Rogde, 86, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 in Franklin Grove, IL. Don was born on May 9, 1931 to Solomon and Inger (Espeland) Rogde in Lee, Illinois. He married Joanne Lower on January 2, 1954 in Rochelle. Don worked for the Illinois Yarn Company/Caron International for over 30 years. He then went to work for the City of Rochelle for many years and spent his retirement years as a crossing guard.

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joanne of Rochelle; four children: Robert (Amanda) Rogde of St. Charles, IL, Barbara (Eric) Bell, Bonnie Moore both of Rochelle and Brenda (Clint) Garner of Spanish Fort, AL; eight grandchildren: Jessica (Paul) Mueller, Andrew (Brittney) Rogde, Jacob Bell, Anthony Rogde-Hinderliter; Sam Moore, Justin Rogde, Joshua Rogde and Lauren Garner and four great grandchildren: Sophia and Xavier Mueller, Bentley and Stella Rogde and baby boy Mueller due in September.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his brother, Gurtis (Marjorie) Rogde; four sisters: Alice Norlin, Inez (Leonard) Bales, Margaret (Charles) Jacobson, Vivian (Herman) Kaiser and an unborn child.

The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 29 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 207 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Ruben Herrera officiating. The burial will follow the service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be made in Don's memory to the Hub City Senior Center or Rochelle Little League.
