Donald L. Schabacker, age 85 of Rochelle, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2007 at
Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.
He was born on August 16, 1921 in Monroe Township, IL, the son of George J. And Anna S.
(Paulsen) Schabacker. Don married Frances Hauser on January 22, 1949 in Rochelle, and he farmed prior to retirement. He enjoyed softball, golf and was in the Bowling Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife: Frances of Rochelle; 2 sons: Donald E. (Nancy) Schabacker of Rochelle and Andrew Schabacker of Mendota, IL; 5 daughters: Gae Schabacker and Rebecca Duncan both of Rochelle, JoAnne Jauch of Vinemont, AL, June Sloan of Mt. Morris, IL and Jill Huff of Morgantown, KY; 2 sisters: Lavona Schabacker of Rochelle and Betty (Virgil)
Cole of Mountain Home, AR; 10 grandchildren: Brandy, Joshua, Jonah, Benjamin, Jacob, Jasmine, Hallie, Jonathan, Carol and Rachel.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Mark Nordman, and Marvin Metzger. Visitation will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Wed. April 18th from 4 to 7. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery and in lieu of flowers: memorials can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Pinecrest Community in Mt. Morris, IL.
