Donald C. Shaw, 93 of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at Rochelle
Gardens. He was born on Sept. 15, 1917 in Wayne County, IL, the son of Vern and Edith Mary (Rainwater) Shaw. Don married Luella Gregory on April 26, 1938. He was a heavy
equipment operator for Local #150 Engineers for over 50 years and retired in 1980. He liked
to travel and camp with his family. During WWII, Don served in the Merchant Marines, was a life member of Hillcrest Baptist Church now the Harvest Baptist Church of Hillcrest.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years: Luella of Rochelle; daughter: Patsy Lovelady of Rochelle;
sons: Robert (Elena) Shaw of Hoffman Estates, IL and Danny (Donna) Shaw of Rochelle; 4
grandchildren: Carolyn (Lenny) Capes, Eddy Lovelady, Danette Clark and Damon (Lisa) Shaw;
2 step grandchildren: Joselyn (Brian) Sheidt and Charmaine Asuncion; 8 great grandchildren: Andy (Wendy) Thomas, Gregory Thomas, Eric Lovelady, Kristi and Kaylie Clark, and Conner, Braden and Maddie Shaw; 2 great great grandchildren: Alanna and Cameron Thomas; brother: Herman Shaw of Rock Falls; and sister: Margie Wiggins of Sims, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters: Geraldine Bergeson, Mildred Ellis, Dorothy Keen, Freda Clark and Arlene Flanigan, 2 brothers: Howard and Murvin Shaw; son-in-law: Paul Lovelady and granddaughter: Dawn Lovelady.

Services will be held at Harvest Baptist Church on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Duane Boehm. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, Dec. 19th. Burial with Military rites by V.F.W. Post 3878 at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to Harvest Baptist Church.
