Donald E. "Smitty" Smith, 58 of Steward, IL, passed away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at Rochelle Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Rochelle, on June 5, 1953 to Gardner J. and Margaret E.(Walker) Smith. . On June 2, 1990, in Steward, he married Joyce (Camplain) Bolhous. "Smitty" was employed by Nestle in DeKalb for six years. He enjoyed wood working, riding motorcycles and camping. He was preceded in death by his father: Gardner, and sister: Elaine Schmidt.

Survivors include his wife: Joyce of Steward, IL; mother: Margaret Smith of Steward;
brothers: Richard (Paula) Smith of Battle Creek, MI and David Smith of Steward, IL; sister: Sharen (Jack) Thompson of Steward, IL, step sons: Jerry (Brenda) Spratt, Jeff (Marla) Spratt, Eddie Spratt, and Roy (Dorothy) Spratt; grandchildren: Chad Spratt, Jared Spratt, Trishia Reeves, Missy Barcai, Lavona Spratt, Derek Spratt, Jason Spratt, Cory Spratt, and Shawna Spratt,
and 6 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle with Rev. Sandy Graber. Visitation on Thursday, Dec. 15th from 4 to 8 pm at Unger-Horner.
Burial at Steward Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society.
