Donna J Friestad, age 66, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Provena St. Anne Center in Rockford. She was born on July 4, 1948 in Lanark, IL the daughter of James Robert Nicolas and Dorothy Lucille Sunbom Schomer. Donna married James Lewis Friestad on November 15, 1969 in Mount Carroll, IL. She was very loving and had a great sense of humor. Donna is preceded in death by her parents: James and Dorothy Schomer; her brother, Robert James Schomer, her adopted grandson, Gostovo Aleman, and brother-in-laws: Larry Lufkin and Leo Peters.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Friestad of Rochelle; 3 sisters, Christine (Elwin) Rice of Thompson, IL, Maxine Lufkin of Mount Carroll, IL and Kathleen Peters of Fulton, IL; adopted daughter, Barbara (Valentine) Aleman of Rochelle, and adopted grandchildren: Duane, Jordan, Gabriel and Valerie Aleman; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the First General Baptist Church, Rochelle with Rev. Angelo Bonaquisti officiating.
