Donnie W. Burton, 63, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at his home. Donnie was born May 30, 1952 to Ernest and Venar (Bouland) Burton in Rochelle. He married Swanetta Lynn Dodson on September 13, 1997 in Rochelle. He worked for the Ethenol Plant for 7 years before retiring. Donnie was a loving husband, wonderful grandpa and an awesome brother and uncle. He was loved by all that knew him. He bartended at Grubsteakers and in the Rochelle area for over twenty years. He had not bartended in almost ten years and was still known as the best bartender ever. Donnie always had a story or joke to tell. He loved being on the river and grilling for his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Venar Galland, on October 14, 2015.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Swany; three step-children: Twopony (Misty) Hankins, Lena King and Katrina Layman; father, Ernest Burton of Arkansas; brother, Ernie Burton of Rochelle; sister, Pat (Rick Frances) Robles of Chana; 12 step-grandchildren: Tyler, Hunter, Asher, Cooper, April, Daniel, Devin, Charlie, Kayden, Ashley, Mitchell and Kaylae; two great grandchildren; and niece and nephew: Jessica Robles and Jon Robles.

A gathering will be held in his memory Sunday, Nov. 8th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chana Tap Bar and Grill, 104 N. Center Ave., Chana, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the on line guest book.
