Donald "Donnie" Duane Jonathan LeRette, 63, of Rochelle IL, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025. Donnie was born in Sycamore, IL. July 17, 1962 the son of Gary and Diana (Allison) LeRette. He married Patti Lynn Schutte September 19, 1998 in Rochelle, IL. Don lived his life with a full heart, steady hands, and a quiet appreciation for the simple joys that make a life meaningful. He married Patti, the love of his life and his truest companion. Together they built a home filled with laughter, devotion, and the kind of partnership that stands as an example to all who witnessed it. His two children, Amber and Brandon, were his greatest pride and the lights of his world.

A man who found peace in the rhythm of the outdoors, Don could often be found with a fishing pole in his hand, patiently waiting on the water—soaking in the stillness, the breeze, and the beauty around him. He savored good food, not just for the flavors, but for the company and conversation that always seemed to come with it.

His yard was his canvas, a place he tended with care and intention. No detail was too small, no task too ordinary; he found joy in nurturing the space he called home. Nature responded in kind—birds and squirrels knew his backyard as a safe haven, a place where they were welcomed and cared for. Don had a gentle soul that recognized the value of every living thing, and his kindness extended far beyond what words can capture.

To know Don was to know steadiness, generosity, and a quiet strength. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, gratitude, and the beauty of a life well-lived. He will be missed deeply, remembered dearly, and carried always in the hearts of those who loved him.

Donnie is preceded in death by his biological parents, and his grandparents who raised him, Orville and Louise Rosness; father-in-law: Richard Schutte; Aunt: Jeanne Mall.

Donnie is survived by his wife: Patti of Rochelle, IL; one son: Brandon LeRette of Rochelle; one daughter: Amber LeRette of Rochelle; two brothers: Jamie (Debbie) LeRette of IA and Doug Goldman of Indiana; five sisters: Tina (Craig) LeRette of Iowa, Denise LeRette of Kentucky, Dawn Harp of IL, Mindi LeRette of Arkansas and Amy Carter of WI.

Public visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 10:00 -11:00 AM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home following the visitation with Pastor Joy Alsop officiating. Cremation rights will follow the services.
