Rochelle
Doris E. Beck, died on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born on September 6, 1924 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Belton and Katherine McCullough Steed. She married Harold "Bill" Beck in Rochelle in 1949, he preceded her on February 28, 1983. Doris worked as a teacher in the Rochelle Elementary School District. She enjoyed traveling, including trips to Europe, British Isles, and Asia. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, DAR, and past president of the Rochelle Women's Club. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Dan Littlejohn and sister: Pat Parnell.
Survived by her daughter, Nancy (John) Gleissner of Rochelle, 3 grandchildren: Steve Gleissner of Ferndale, Washington, Jaimie Gleissner of Stebbins, Alaska, and Kerri Gleissner of Washington, IL, and a sister, Kay (William) Schaffer of Georgetown, Kentucky
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. James A. Tilley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you smile and remember Doris fondly. Guest book at www.ungerhorner.com
