Doris L. Bemis, age 89, of Rochelle, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at her home.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1921 in Rochelle, IL to Frank J. and Martha (Dettman) Woodrick.
Doris married Frank R. Bemis on Jan. 3, 1945 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2007.
She was also preceded by 7 siblings: Arthur, Lawrence, Erlene, Martha, Margaret, Marion, and Lydia.
Survivors include 3 sons: Tom (Louise) Bemis of Chana, IL, Frank (Joanne) Bemis of Rochelle, IL and Dan Bemis of Rochelle, IL; 2 daughters: Jerri (Erv) Kozlowski of Kingston, IL and
Leslie Bemis of Sycamore, IL; 12 grandchildren: Adam, Amy, Alex, Arin, Tom, Bob, Michelle, Frank Jr, Beth, Allison, Megan and Lindsey; great grandchildren: Kyle, Peyton, True, Chance,
Jacob, Pheobe, Kayla, William and Lauralie; sister: Edith (James) Harper of Rochelle.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Friday, Dec. 10th, 2010 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Family graveside and burial services will be held at Lawnridge Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
