Doris J. Duncan, 71, of Rochelle, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL. She was born on Nov. 9, 1939 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Clydus R. and (birth mother) Jerlean (Smith) Satterfield and was raised by her mother: Treva Satterfield . Graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. Doris married James Duncan on March 22, 1960 in Sycamore, IL. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and also scrap booking and cooking. Doris enjoyed attending church and was very fond of her Church Family. Over the years Doris worked for Rochelle Community Hospital, and for the Tri County Opportunities as private home care provider.

Survivors include her husband: James of Rochelle; daughters: Paula McGill of Rochelle, Cheryl (Doug) Kuemmel of Rochelle, Tammy Schaper of MO, Deana (Rick) Rhoads of Rochelle and Elizabeth (Greg) Petersen of Ashton, son: David Duncan of ND, mother: Treva Satterfield of Mt. Vernon sister: Debbie Finney of Mt. Vernon, IL; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; one Uncle: Pete Satterfield. She was preceded in death by her father, and birth mother; grandparents: Elza and Dolly Satterfield; special aunts: Dee Pearson, Ruth Satterfield and Verla Shepard.

Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL on Sunday, May 22, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the New Beginnings Baptist Church Creston, on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston. IL. Memorials to the family.
