Doris E. Lawson, 79 of Ashton, IL passed away on Wed. Aug. 13, 2008 at Swedish American
Hospital in Rockford. She was born on Dec. 25, 1928 in Decatur, IL the daughter of
Albert "Jack" E. and Ila M. (Carson) Easton. Doris married Glenn L. Lawson on Dec. 31, 1946 in Vandalia, IL and he preceded her on Dec. 31, 1997. Doris was employed by Eaton Controls and retired after 28 years and then worked at the lunch room for several years at the Ashton School.

Survivors include a son: Bill (Jane) Lawson of Rockford, IL; 3 daughters: Linda (Richard)
Russell of Ashton, IL, Monetta (Rod) Young of Ashton, and Pat (Roger) Garrison of Polo, IL;
brother: Gene Watson of Brownstown, IL; grandchildren: Shelley O'Dell, Debbie Tucker, Amy (Dave) Bushman, Jolinda (Larry) Bittinger, Keith (Katie)Chesnut, Molly (Douglas) Sides, Bennett Lawson, Emily Lawson, and Brady Young; Great Grandchildren: Kyle O'Dell, Lindsey O'Dell, Avery Tucker, Ruby Tucker, Tristan Bushman, Griffin Bushman, Hayden Bittinger, Garrett Bittinger, Raine Sides, and Cole Chesnut. She was also preceded by sisters:
Phyllis Young and Betty Watson; grandson: Randy Russell and great grandchild: Eden Bushman.

Services will be at the Ashton Methodist Church on Saturday Aug. 16, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Monica William. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 15th from 5 to 8 PM. at the Ashton Methodist Church and from 9:30 to service time on Saturday. Burial at Ashton Cemetery. Memorials to Ashton Methodist Church or to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
