Dorothea "Dot" M. Allen, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation in Franklin Grove, Illinois. Dot was born April 23, 1917 in Warsaw, Illinois to Henry and Louise (Mazurczak) Wirth. She married James "Jeff" Allen on October 3, 1939 in Carthage, Illinois. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff, on August 16, 1995, her son, James, brother, Robert Wirth and sister, Ann Wirth Simpson.

Dot is survived by her son, David Allen of Rochelle, three daughters: Lynn (Matthew) Biros of San Diego, California, Joan Allen of New York and Mary Davis of Rochelle; six grandchildren: Holly (Bill) Kubale, Kate (Dave) Friestad, Mike (Lynne) Olson, Matthew Allen, Beth Mihok and Sadie Wirth Friedman and nine great grandchildren: Jenna, John, Jake, Ian, Grace, Michaela, Max, Addison and Ryan.

Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle with the Rev. Dr. James Tilley officiating. The visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 A.M. the same day as the memorial service at the funeral home. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, Rochelle.
