Dorothy Foss Finkboner, 88, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin Grove, Illinois. Dorothy was born February 27, 1925 in Ogle County to Jacob and Emma (Hansen) Foss.

Dorothy graduated from the Rochelle Township High School in 1943 and then attended Illinois State University. She married George Finkboner July 23, 1949 at the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Formerly employed ten years by the First National Bank of Rochelle, Dorothy retired from the position of teller and personal banker.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, George, in 2006 and sister, Evelyn Lehrke of Alexandria, Virginia in 2012. She is survived by her son, Brian (Tammy Thompson) of Lindenwood, IL; daughter, Julie (Jerry) Harrington of Shawnee, Kansas; sister, Lola Marsden of Rockford, IL and two grandchildren: Jacob and Jessica Harrington.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials are to the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
