DOROTHY H. JOHNSON, age 91, formerly of Rochelle, Died on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the St. John's Mercy Villa in Springfield Missouri. She was born on November 18, 1917 in Dement Township, Ogle County, Illinois on the family farm, the daughter of Edwin and Mary Hunter Fogle. Dorothy worked for 27 years as a Nurses Aid at the Rochelle Community Hospital, retiring in 1982. She married L. Edward Johnson. He preceded her in death on February 22, 1979. She is also preceded by her son: SPC 4: Arnold E. Johnson on Nov. 16, 1967 in Viet Nam; 3 sisters: Edith Barnes, Edna Holmes and Margaret Eychaner; and a twin brother: William Fogle.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Elias (Marilyn) Johnson of Springfield, MO
David (Kathy) Johnson of Yelm, WA
3 daughters: Betty (Warren) Mowers of Rochelle, Madeline (Jerry) Bauer of Stockton, IL
Beth (Willem) Van Heuven of Seattle, WA
16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchild
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the First Baptist Church, Rochelle with the Rev. Doug Cowan officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30AM on Thursday prior to the funeral at the Church.
Burial at the Union Cemetery in Steward, IL.
