Dorothy Ann Meyer 90 of Franklin Grove, died Saturday Oct. 11, 2008 at Franklin Grove Health Care in Franklin Grove, IL. She was born Nov. 19, 1917 in Centralia, IL the daughter of Charles and Dolly Kirkland Hatfield. She married Leslie E. Meyer on April 17, 1946 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her on Feb. 11, 2000. She was also preceded by 2 brothers and 1 sister, Edward Lee Hatfield, Robert Dean Hatfield and Lela Mae Hatfield.

Dorothy was a life member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Rockford, graduated from Rockford College with a Phd in education. She belonged to the Teachers Union and was a Member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing the piano and violin.

Survived by 1 son Rev. Alan (Linda) Meyer of Ashton, IL and 1 daughter Denise Quayle of Rockford, IL.
7 Grandchildren Karen (Mark) Boyer, Dr. Les (Mindy) Meyer, Rev. David (Lindy) Meyer, Kimberley (Wayne) Hovar, Lisa Quayle, Elizabeth Quayle and Michael Quayle. And 9 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday Oct. 16, 2008 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 to service time on Thursday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Reynolds United Methodist Church of Ashton and Ogle County Hospice.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford, Illinois.
