Douglas Paul Lieving, 50, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from a car accident in Rockford, Illinois. Doug was born on January 24, 1972 to Paul and Kathryn (Herrmann) Lieving in Rochelle, IL. Over the years, he was employed at Cedar Siding in Rochelle, Motorola, Woodward Govenor and currently UPS in Rockford.

Doug loved to be in nature and take walks in the woods with his girls. He enjoyed grilling and smoking food. He was an avid collector of knives and guns. During his free time, he enjoyed hanging out and just doing life with his life long friend, Dan.

Doug is survived by his three daughters: Alexandra, Adabelle and Avery of Rockford, IL; his parents, Paul and Kathryn Lieving of De Witt, IA; two sisters: Sara (Jason) Osborne and Amy (Scott) Seebach both of Rochelle, IL; two nieces: Lydia Osborne and Allison Seebach and nephew, Kyle Seebach.

The visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 21 at the funeral home with Pastors Doug Forsberg and Todd Ackland officiating.
