Earl W. Bien, age 66, passed away at his home with his family at his side. He was born on November 1, 1948, in Pine Rock Township near Chana, IL, the son of Arnold and Mable Palmer Bien. Earl married Karen Jane Slagle on February 4, 1984 in Rochelle, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Earl worked as a printer starting at Rochelle Printing and retiring from World of Color in Mount Morris in 2010. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Rochelle, 3 sons: Rob (Ronda) Werkmeister of Apache Junction, AZ; Steve (Victoria) Werkmeister of Rochelle; and Dennis (Kim) Bien of Franklin Grove; 7 grandchildren: Brandy, D.J., Josh and Austin Werkmeister, Lexi Wayne, and Dalton and Bristol Bien; and sister, Trish Guillotle of Rochelle.

The family is going to have a celebration of Earl's life service at a later date. Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle is assisting the family with their cremation services.
