Obituary

Edward Hack Richardson, 73 of Rochelle, passed away Sunday, January 27th, 2013 at his home in Rochelle. He was born August 8, 1939, in Elgin, Illinois; the son of Edward S. and Dorothea Virginia (Hack) Richardson. Edward married Carol Jean Theiner December 3, 1960. He worked as printer/production manager for Richardson Publication, a printer for Elgin Courier, a publisher for Fox Valley Labor News and a production manager for the Lincoln Courier (Copley Publications). He was in the newspaper business for 43 years. Ed was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lutheran Layman's League and the Kiwanis Golden K. He was also an Eagle Scout. Ed enjoyed many activities. As a youth, roller skating and trumpet playing were two of his favorites. Later in life, he spent his spare time working in the yard, bargain shopping, traveling, swimming for recreation, computer and automotive repair. He was an avid sports fan and church goer. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert E. Richardson.

Survivors included his wife, Carol, of Rochelle; three sons: Michael Edward (Carla) Richardson of Kingston, Illinois, Daniel Joseph (Amy) Richardson of Makanda, Illinois, and Timothy Gabriel (Bridgit) Richardson of Downs, Illinois; three daughters: Lizabeth Jean (Jeff) Reents of Carnation, WA, Amy Christina (Greg) Hacker of Murrayville, Illinois and Valerie Susan (Jon) Boehne of El Paso, Illinois and 18 grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 31st, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Rochelle, Illinois. The visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 30th 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School.
