Edward F. Rosenwinkel, 91, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. Ed was born on February 12, 1930 to Ernst and Martha (Edecker) Rosenwinkel in Bloomingdale, IL. On June 30, 1962, he married Barbara A. O'Malley in Berwyn, IL. She preceded him in death on September 5, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Harvey, Willard and Ralph Rosenwinkel; one great-grandchild.

Ed is survived by his three sons:Mark (Gayle) Rosenwinkel of Rochelle, IL, Eric (Kathryn) Rosenwinkel of South Beloit and Curt (Maureen) Rosenwinkel of Palatine, IL; 11 grandchildren: Nicholas, Jared (Jade), Matthew, Aaron (Emma), Ellie, John, Ann, Michael, Jack, Brian and Katherine; sister-in-law: Ruth Rosenwinkel of Bartlett, IL; special niece: Therese Ann (Rich) Thomas of Mendota and several nieces and nephews.

Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and was a proud supporter of his grandchildren.  He often would attend their sporting events and always appreciated lunch out with everyone at a family restaurant.  As a lifelong farmer, he liked going for drives, checking the fields, and commenting on the condition of the crops.  We will miss him spontaneously dropping by for a chat over a cup of coffee or a half a beer!

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
