Elizabeth H. Rainwater, age 85 of Rochelle, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007
at Rochelle Gardens Care Center. She was born on Jan. 22, 1922 in Rochelle, the daughter of Fred G. And Leona H. (Pierce) Pierce. Elizabeth married Nole G. H. Rainwater on July 31, 1939 and he preceded her on March 23, 1998. She was also preceded by 2 brothers: James and John Pierce.
Elizabeth farmed with her husband and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle, was a former board member of Kings Consolidated School District for many years,
and the Flagg Station Grange.
Survivors include a son: Rodney (Ursula) Rainwater of Rochelle; 6 daughters: Jean (Richard)
Woollacott of Lake Placid, FL, Barbara (Gene) Smith of Sun City, AZ, Maria Olson of Madison, TN, Janice (Jack) Barringer of Rochelle, Linda (Roy) Kinn of Kings, IL, and Diane (Don) Kinn of Rochelle; 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Services will be at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. James Tilley on Thursday, Dec. 27th at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Wed. Dec. 26th from 4 to 8 PM. Burial is at Trinity Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers: Memorials can be made to the Kings School or to the First Presbyterian Church.
