Elwood L. Walk, 92, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018 in Rockford, IL. Elwood was born on November 19, 1925 to Louis C. and Mary H. (Hookstead) Walk in Cherry Valley, IL. He married Janet Kirchman on March 17, 1984 and she preceded him in death on December 17, 1999. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is also predeceased by a brother, Leslie "Bud" Walk. Elwood served in the US Army from 1953-1955 and was stationed in Korea and Japan.
Elwood is survived by his stepson, Joe (Torri) Troutman of Rockford, IL; brother, Gilbert Walk of Monroe Center; granddaughter, Megan Troutman; great-granddaughter, Lucy Coleman, and Lucy's father, John Coleman; sister-in-law, Donna Walk of Rochelle; nieces Judy (Carl) McClenthen of Belvidere, Ann (Chuck) Jones of Monroe Center, and Beverly Callow of South Milwaukee, WI; nephews Gayle (Teri) Walk of Davis Junction and Karl (Tracy) Walk of Justin, TX; numerous other great nieces and nephews, and his dog, Tiger.

The visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M., Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 6 at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Mellon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Monroe Center Cemetery.
