Emily Josephine Ellis, age 67 of Rockford, IL, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 at her home in Rockford. She was born on Feb. 6, 1939 in Rockford, the daughter of George and Marie (Verkuilen) Lauren.

Emily married Charles C. Ellis on Dec. 23, 1995 in Rockford. She had been employed by MTE Hydraulics in Rockford. A step son: Charles L. Ellis, and sister: Jeanne Miles and a great grandson: Jeremiah Northrup, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband: Charles of Rockord; 3 daughters: Jacqueline Crockett of Portland, TN, Jannette Northrup of Manhattan, KS and Jennifer O'Keefe of Portland, TN; 2 stepsons: Thomas (Penny) Ellis of Ashton, and Larry (Minkie) Ellis of Hemmitt, CA; a sister: Dorothy (Dale) Lilly of Portland, TN; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ed Greenfield officiating. Visitation 10 to service time on Friday. Burial of cremains will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. A memorial has been established.
