Emmagene "Emmie" M. Hope, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in Rochelle. Emmie was born July 13, 1923 to John James and Helen (Hayes) Brennan in Rochelle. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1941. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Illinois and was a stewardess for United Airlines for several years. She married John "Jack" W. Hope on August 27, 1949 in Rochelle, whom preceded her in death on May 13, 1991. Emmie worked as a secretary for the Sycamore schools' superintendent and then for the superintendent of R.T.H.S. She was a very active golfer for over 50 years and involved for many years with the Lincoln Highway Golf Association. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Emmie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Brennan.

Emmie is survived by her sister, Maralyn Guthrie of Anawan, IL; two brothers: Jack Brennan of Libertyville, IL and Bill (Fran) Brennan of Maple Park, IL and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 207 Kelley Drive, Rochelle with Father Johnson Lopez officiating. The visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick Church.
